●if dry seeds dont respire ,they wont release carbondioxide,hence keeping them moist allow them to respire and release co2
●KOH absorbs carbondioxide.if it is not kept in the setup ,the flask will already contain CO2 and the activity will not be performed well

10.guard cells swell up when water moves into it making it open.
they shrink when water moves out of it making the stomatal pore to close.this is how the opening and closing of guard cells occur.
