Let the total number of votes be = x
No. of votes got by A =( 40 / 100 ) ( x )
= 2x / 5
No. of votes got by another candidate ={ (100 - 40 ) ( x ) / 100 }
= 3x / 5
According to the question
(3x / 5 ) - (2x /5 ) = 160
x = 800
