Let the age of man be = x+ 28
So, his son 's present age = x

Now,
Age after 10 years = x + 28 + 10 = 3x
= 38 = 3x - x = 2x

So , x = 38/2 = 19

So ,

1) present age of father = 19 + 28 = 47 yrs

2) present Age of son = 19 yrs

Let the present age of the man be y and the age of the son be x
x+28=y
In ten years time y+10=3(x+10)
y+10=3x+30
Substitute to solve for x
x+28+10=3x+30
x+38=3x+30
2x=8
x=4

The current age of the son is 4 and the age of the man is 32 (4+28)
