A = {x,y,z}

B = {1,2}

This is because it is given that the relation is AxB. So, the first term in each of the brackets belongs to A and the other one belongs to B.

That is why, A = {x,y,z} and B = {1,2}

since{ (x,1) ; (y,2) ;(z,1) } are elements of AXB.....
And n(A)=3; (B)=2

then, A= { x, y, z }
and B = { 1,2}
