Bismillah Khan was a symbol of India's cultural heritage and the composite culture of India because he represented the country India whenever he played the Shenai. Though he was a muslim he used to go to temples and play shenai and earn ladoos as prize.He was called to USA to be head of music school but he denied  because he did not wanted to leave his motherland India, Benaras and the holy ganges. He showed true respect towards his country and is a symbol of India's culture and heritage.
