where, x= number of side
So, (x-2)180°
=(5-2)180°
=3 × 180°
= 540°

the sum of triangle ABC is 180*
similarly the sum of triangle of BCE AND CDE IS ALSO 180*.
In the given figure,
sum of all anlges of the pentagon = sum of all anlges of all the three trianlges
= ABC+BCE+CDE
= 180*+180*+180*
= 540*
