1st case: speed = 9 km/hr, time = 10 mins = 1/6 hr

Distance covered = speed x time = 9 x 1/6 = 3/2 km = 1.5 km

2nd case : Time = 20 mins = 1/3 hr,
Let Distance = x km

We know, Avg speed = total distance covered / total time taken
Total distance = (1.5 + x)km
Total time = 10 + 20 mins = 30 mins = 1/2 hr
Avg Speed = (1.5 + x)/ 1/2
=> 12 = (1.5 + x) / 1/2
=> 12 × 1/2 = 1.5 + x
=> 6 = 1.5 + x
=> 6 - 1.5 = x
=> x = 4.5 km

In 2nd case: distance = 4.5 km, time = 1/3 hr
hence, speed = 4.5 / 1/3 = 4.5 × 3 = 13.5

Required speed = 13.5 km/hr

Hope it helps!!!!
