SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The linear equation such that each point of it's graph has an ordinate one more than 3 (1/2) time it abscissa

EVALUATION

Let the coordinates of the point is (x, y)

Abscissa = x and ordinate = y

So by the given condition

y = 3 \frac{1}{2} x + 1 \\  \\ y =  \frac{7}{2} x + 1 \\  \\ y =  \frac{7x + 2}{2}  \\  \\ 2y = 7x + 2 \\  \\ 0 = 7x - 2y + 2

Which is the required linear equation
