let the number of rows be x
and number of students in each row be y
therefore number of students In a class be xy


from first condition
(y+3)(x-1()=xy
xy - y+3x-3=xy
3x-y-3=0
3x-y=3............(1)
thumb second condition
(x+2)(y-3)=xy
xy-3x+2y-6=xy
-3x+2y=6...............(2)
adding equations (1) & (2)we get
y=9
putting y=9 in equation (1)
3x-9=3
3x=3+9
3x=12
so x=4
therefore no of students in a class =xy= 9×4=36
hence total 36 students are there in a class
