mean=sum of observations/number of observations

m=1+7+5+3+4+4/6

m=24/6=4

now

m-1=3+2+4+2+3+3+p/7

3=17+p/7

21=17+p

p=4

median for odd number of observations=(n+1/2)the term

n is number of observations

median=4th term in ascending order

q=3
