It is an important phenomenon as the growing seedling needs to get properly anchored in the soil for both protection,support and nutrients.As the seedling starts to grow it,the nutrient which it actually gets from the endosperm,proves not to be as much sufficient as per the required needs,and hence an alternative source is needed at that moment.
