Answer : 26 cm

Given : A triangle PQR has PQ = 10 cm and PR = 24 cm . The triangle is right angled at P .

To find : The measure of QR

Solution : We know that according to the Pythagoras theorem , we have the following Statement ,

= (Hypotenuse)² = (Leg)² + (Leg)²

= (QR)² = (PR)² + (PQ)²

= (QR)² = (24)² + (10)²

= (QR)² = 576 + 100

= (QR)² = 676

= QR = √676

= QR = 26 cm

More to know : Pythagoras theorem states that the sum of square of the two sides of a triangle is equal to the square of its hypotenuse . Here the hypotenuse is the side opposite to right angle and the other two sides are called legs . The line that is perpendicular to base and where the right angle is formed is also called the perpendicular .
