For addition :

Add LHS and RHS

  • 3x + 4y + 2x - 5y = 9 + 6
  • 5x - y = 15

For Subtraction :

Subtract LHS and RHS

  • 3x + 4y - ( 2x - 5y ) = 9 - 6
  • 3x + 4y - 2x + 5y = 3
  • x + 9y = 3
