value of sin 30° is 1/2

Value of cos 30° is ✓3/2

now substituting the values in the equation

 { (\frac{1}{2} })^{2}  -   { (\frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}) }^{2}  \\  =  \frac{1}{4}  -  \frac{3}{4}  \\  =  -  \frac{2}{4}  \\  =  -  \frac{1}{2}

the required answer is - 1/2
