Answer:

Solid Fuel– State at room temperature are referred to as solid fuels. Examples wood, coal,

Liquid Fuel– They are derived from the remains of dead plants and animals by exposure to heat and pressure in the earth’s crust. Example: petroleum, coal tar, oil, Alcohols etc

Gaseous Fuel– Gaseous fuels occur in nature. Most gaseous fuels are composed of hydrocarbons, carbon etc. Examples: Coal gas, hydrogen gas, oil gassolid

solid fuel:coal

calorific value:8,000 kcal/kg

liquid fuel: petroleum and other

calorific value:Petrol/gasoline 44-46 MJ/kg

Diesel fuel 42-46 MJ/kg

Crude oil 42-47 MJ/kg

Liquefied petroleum gas (LP

gas fuel: hydrogen gas

calorific value;:Hydrogen (H2) 120-142 MJ/kg

Methane (CH4) 50-55 MJ/kg

Methanol (CH3OH) 22.7 MJ/kg

Dimethyl ether - DME (CH3OCH3) 29 MJ/kg

Answer:

fuels are of three types(Petroleum,Coal and natural gas)

SOLID FORM-COAL

=it is a black colour sedimentary rock.it produces smoke foul smelling gases which causes air pollution.

OCCURRENCE OF COAL

=the major coal mines in India are located in jharkhand, madhya pardesh, odisha etc.

FORMATION OF COAL

=coal was formed from plant remains got buried deep under the Earth's crust.this process is known as carbonisation

TYPES PF COAL

=peat,lignite,anthracite and bituminous

DESTRUCTIVE DESTILISATION OF COAL

= strong heating of coal in absence of air

LIQUID FORM-PETROLEUM

=it is a black coloured viscous and foul smelling liquid known as crude oil as well as Rock oil

OCCURRENCE OF PETROLEUM

=petrol is found at moderate depths (500m-2000m) between 2 layers of impervious rocks

REFINING PF PETROLEUM

=to separate different components of petrol into various useful forms.this process is known as refining

GAS FORM-NATURAL GAS

=it is compressed and stored under pressure is called CNG

USES OF NATURAL GAS

=it is used in the manufacture of fertilizer and chemicals,it is used as better and cleaner fuel etc
