In chemistry resonance is not same as the resonance in physics.

Resonance in Physics
It means some vibrations achieve a very high amplitude when forced oscillation frequency and natural frequency of the system both are same.

In electrical circuits or electronic circuits it is similar. When the power source (current source) and the circuit have same frequency then the amplitude of the electrical quantities like current reach very high values....

Resonance in Chemistry:

1.   There are many organic molecules which have isomers. There are some inorganic molecules having isomers. These isomers have the same chemical formula. They have some elements or groups which interchange their positions in the molecule.

This interchanging of their molecules results in a different structure. Also some properties of the compound are changed.

At any given time, it is expected that these isomeric structures of a compound are in equilibrium.  There are continuous conversions from one structure into another happening all the time. They are said to be resonance structures of the compound.

 2)   Same is with electrons. Some electrons are jumping from one orbital to another. The structure gets altered due to that. Thus for the compound electronic structure is not unique. There is an equilibrium between two or more structures which continuously change from one to another form.

    They are called resonance structures.
