Hey!

given :

C_6H_12  \: O_6   \rightarrow \: CO_2

now valance factor for carbon:

let valance of the carbon be x

so

we get,

6x + 1 \times 12 + ( - 2) \times 6 = 0

where the valancy of oxygen is -2 and hydrogen +1

now solving furthere we get,

6x +0=0

x= 0

similarly,

In carbon dioxide

let the valance of carbon be x

so we get,

x + (-2) * 2= 0

x = 4

so the valance of carbon changes with respect to compound it formed.

hope it help ❣
