Solution :

(i) Diphtheria

Reason -

  • Diphtheria , is caused by toxins of Corynebacterium diphtheriae { a bacterial disease }
  • Influenza , is caused by Influenza viruses { viral disease }
  • Measles , is caused by Measles virus { viral disease }
  • Mumps , is caused by paramyxovirus {viral disease }

As from above it is clear that all are viral disease except Diphtheria

(ii) BCG

Reason -

  • BCG , is a vaccine given to newborn at birth. It is also known as "Janm tika". BCG is administered to left upper arm , which leave scar also ( It's used to check whether a person is vaccinated or not )
  • AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) is a disease caused by HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) which is a Retrovirus. The major target of HIV virus are lymphocytes ( particularly T-lymphocyte)

From above it is clear that; AIDS , retroviruses and lymphocytes are linked . But BCG isn't linked to other three
