We gonna transfer 1/x to LHS and solve by cross multiplication

We will get;

$\bold {x^2 \: +ax \: +bx \: +ab = 0}$

x(x+a) + b(x+a) = 0

(x+a) and (x+b) are factors

so x = -a or x= -b
