Given that

• A can do work in x days
• B can do same work in 2x days
• Both can complete together in x²/6 days

Now we know that A and B can together complete task =

$\frac{d1 \times d2}{d1 + d2}$

Here d1 = x and d2 = 2x

Putting value of d1 and d2 here ,

$\frac{x(2x)}{x + 2x} = \frac{ {x}^{2} }{6}$

$\frac{2 {x}^{2} }{3x} = \frac{ {x}^{2} }{6}$

$12 {x}^{2} = 3 {x}^{3}$

4x². = x³

$4 = \frac{ {x}^{3} }{ {x}^{2} }$

4. = x .
