Let the distance be x

Time = Distance ÷ Speed

If he travels at 25km/h

Time needed = x ÷ 25 = x/25 hours

If he travels at 30 km/h

Time needed = x ÷ 30 = x/30 hours

Find the difference in timing:

4 mins late + 10 mins early = 14 mins difference

14 mins = 14/60 = 7/30 hour

Form the equation:

x/25 - x/30 = 7/30

Put it in single fraction:

(30x - 25x) / 750 = 7/30

5x/750 = 7/30

cross multiply:

30 (5x) = 7(750)

Multiply:

150x = 5250

Divide both sides by 150:

x = 35 km

Answer: The distance between office and home is 35 km
