ar(∆ADC) =ar(∆ACE)
•by theorem we know that area of ∆s on same base and between same paralles are equal in area

adding same areas on both sides

ar(∆ADC) + ar(∆ABC) = ar(∆ACE) + ar(∆ABC)

ar of quad(ABCD) = ar of (∆ABE)
