triangle PQR = triangle RSQ ( by AA similarity)

q/a=r/p

1/a=r/pq

square on both sides,

1/a^2 =r^2/p^2*q^2

1/a^2 = p^2 + q^2 /p^2*q^2

1/a^2 = 1/p^2 +1/q^2

hence proved!!
