Given

[tex]5^{x-3} \times 3^{2x-8} = 225 = 15^{2} = 3^{2} \times 5^{2} \\ \\ [/tex]

So we will get

[tex]x-3 = 2 \implies x=5 \\ or \\ 2x-8 = 2 \implies x=5[/tex]

chiefLucky: How do you add math functions in your answers?

225=(15) ^2=(5*3)^2=5^2*3^2
Since 5^(x-3)*3^(2x-8)=225=5^2*3^2,
By comparison,
x-3=2 and 2x-8=2
Take any one and solve it.
x-3=2
x=2+3=5
The second gives the same answer
2x-8=2
2x=10
x=10/2=5
So x=5
