6. Formulas are used to perform calculations.

➡ Formulas in a MS spreadsheet is used to perform various calculations on numerical data such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, taking the average etc.

7. The cell address in a formula is also called cell reference.

➡ The cell name (or cell address) helps to identify the required cells for required tabulations and functions. The cell reference contains an alphabet which is followed by a number. Eg. B2 --- Here the cell is located in column B of the second row.

8. A formula starts with an equal to (=) sign.

➡ A formula must always be preceded by an equal to sign to perform various calculations. (Example attached: A green bold line can be seen as the border over the cell address where the sum of the other cells is added.)

9. Four types of data can be entered in MS Excel.

➡ The four types of data are: textual data, numerical data, times and dates. All these four types of data can be added in an Excel spreadsheet.

10. The Auto sum button is present in the Home tab.

➡ It is present in the Editing group of the Home tab. It helps to add all the values in a selected range of cells and give the sum in the cell right below the range. Auto sum can also be activated by the shortcut -- Alt + =.
