Here I am writing Alpha, Beta as A and B.

Given : x^2 - 4 \sqrt{3} x + 3

We know the sum of the roots A + B = -b/a

                                                       = \frac{4 \sqrt{3} }{1}

                                                      = 4 \sqrt{3}

We know that product of the roots AB = c/a

                                                                =  \frac{3}{1}

                                                                = 3.

Now,

A + B -AB = 4 \sqrt{3} - 3

                         = 4 * 1.732 - 3

                         = 3.928.

Hope this helps!
