90° + X + Y = 180° [ Supplementary Angle ]

so X + Y = 90°

i.e. Y = 90°- X ------- (i)

Again, 40° + ? = 180° [ Linear Pair ]

? = 140°

Now, Y + ? = 180° [ Supplementary Angle ]

90° - X + 140° = 180° [ From Eqn (i) ]

- X = 180° - 230°

-X = -50°

i.e X= 50°

Now, X + Y = 90° [ see 2nd line ]

50° + Y = 90°

Y = 40°

Since,

? = Z [ corresponding angle ]

140° = Z

i.e the values of X, Y, Z are 50°, 40° and 140° respectively.
