\textbf{\mid{\underline{\overline{SOLUTION:-}}}}

Here the identity \boxed{a^{2}+b^{2}=(a+b)^{2}-2ab} is used

GIVEN,

(3a+4b) = 16

ab = 4

ANSWER

Using the above identity we get,

(9a²+16b²) = (3a+4b)² - 2(3a)(4b)

Substituting the values, we get,

(9a²+16b²) = (16)² - 2(12)(ab)

(9a²+16b²) = 256 - 2(12)(4)

(9a²+16b²) = 256 - 96

Answer,

(9a²+16b²) = 160
