sons age =x+2
fathers age = 8 +3(x+2)

now by the question
8 + 3(x+2) =5(x-2) + 4
8+ 3x + 6 =5x -10 + 4
14 + 6. = 2x
X. =10
so sons present age is 10 and fathers age is
=5( 10-2) +2
=42 years
