so for this figure, there are 2 semicircles APB and AQO
as AO=OB=r( given)
Perimeter of shaded region = circumference of semicircle APB + circumference of semicircle AQO
40 = πr +πr/2
40 = (3πr/2)
80= 3πr
r= 80/(3π)................(1)
Now Area of shaded region = πr² + π(r/2)² = (5πr²)/4
Putting value of r from (1)
we get area of shaded region as 283.09cm²

but we can also say like that the diameter of the smaller circle is equal to the radius of
the bigger semicircle
but to find the area of smaller semicircle we need radius not diameter....u can also half the radius of of bigger semicircle to find the area of smaller semicircle
