Step-by-step explanation:

Given : - radius of the circle = 6cm

=> diameter of circle( i.e. PQRS) = 12 cm

Also,PQ = QR = RS

We know PQRS = PQ + QR + RS = PQ + PQ + PQ

therefore,PQRS = 3PQ

12cm÷3 = PQ

PQ = QR = RS = 4cm

Now, area(smaller semicircle that is shaded) =( pi× r^2 ) / 2 = 22/7 × 2^2(because diameter PQ = 4cm)/ 2

= 44/7 cm^2

area ( shaded portion in upper semicircle) = area of whole semicircle - area of smaller semicircle having diameter = QS

= 22/7 × 6^2 /2 - 22/7 × 4^2/2

= 220/7 cm^2

Required area = (44/7 + 220/7)cm^2 = 264/7 cm^2 ans.
