Let the distance to school be x km.
Given that he travels to school at 4km/hr by walk and he travels to school by bicycle at 5km/hr.
x/4 - x/5. ----- (1)
Given that the difference in time = 9 minutes late and 6 minutes early.
= 15 minutes
= 15/60. ---- (2)
On solving (1) and (2), we get
x/4 - x/5 = 15/60
x/20 = 1/4
x = 20/4
x = 5.
Therefore the distance to school is 5 km.
