We can apply law of conservation of momentum here,

It states that momentum after and before the collision is always equal.

Mathematically it states:

m1u1+ m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2

Given:

m1 = 2kg

m2 = 3kg

u1 = 4 m/s

u2 = 1.5 m/s

v1 = 0 m/s ...(as it is collided with purple ball)

v2 = ?

Now, just put the given values:

=> 2 × 4 + 3 × 1.5 = 2 × 0 + 3 × v2

=> 8 + 4.5 = 0 + 3 × v2

=> 12.5 = 3 × v2

=> 12.5/3 = v2

=> 37.5 m/s = v2

Hence we got the required answer...

hope this helped you...
