Explanation:

hey dude,

as we know that Change in speed depends only on magnitude,so simply change in speed may be from v to 2v but if velocity becomes √5 v from v then 2v must be perpendicular to v

so when we will apply Pythagoras theorem we will get √5v as the final velocity
