=> P.E. = 5 × 10 × 2
=> P.E. = 100 J
This Potential Energy changes into Potential Energy of Spring
Potential Energy of string = 1/2 × k × x
where k is Spring constant and x is length of compression
PE OF SPRING = PE OF BLOCK
PE OF SPRING = 100 J
=> 1/2 × k × (0.5)^2 = 100
=> 1/ 2 × k × 1/4 = 100
=> k = 100 × 2 × 4
=> k = 800 N/m
