The compound that reacts with dil. Hcl acid to form the gas which can extinguish fire is Calcium carbonate
When calcium carbonate reacts with dil. Hcl acid, it will produce calcium chloride and Carbon dioxide which stops the fire
Hcl + CO3 -----> CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O
