x {}^{2} - 4x + 3 \\ \: p(1) = (1) {}^{2} - 4(1) + 3 \\ p(1) = 1 - 4 + 3 \\ p(1) = - 2 \\ \\ p(2) = 2 {}^{2} - 4(2) + 3 \\ p(2) = 4 - 8 + 3 \\ p(2) = 4 - 5 \\ p(2) = - 1 \\ \\ \\ p( - 2) - p( - 1) \\ = 1 - 2 \\ = - 1
