no it is not necessary if the two denominator is not the same then take LCMof the two no such as
4/5 and 1/2 the LCM will be 10 so
4/5 becomes 8/10 and1/2 becomes 5/10
4/5 and 1/2 the LCM will be 10 so
4/5 becomes 8/10 and1/2 becomes 5/10
