Given:

☛ Rate = 25

☛ Cost = ₹ 4500

Ratio of length and breadth = 5 : 4

To Find:

☛ Dimensions of the room

Solution:

Length : Breadth = 5 : 4

So,

let Length = 5x and Breadth = 4x

According to the question:

☛ Cost of flooring room at a fixed rate (given) = 4500

➜ Area of room × Rate = Cost

➜ Length × Breadth × 25 = 4500

➜ Length × Breadth = 180

➜ 5x × 4x = 180

➜ 20x² = 180

➜ x² = 9

Since length can't be negative so, x = -3 neglected.

☛ x = √9

➜ x = 3

☛ Length = 5x

➜ Length = 5 × 3

Length = 15 units

☛ Breadth = 4x

➜ Breadth = 4 × 3

Breadth = 12 units.

Hence, Dimensions are 15 ( Length ) × 12 ( Breadth )

= 4500 RUPEES

HENCE AREA OF FLOOR

 =  \frac{4500}{25}  \\  \\  = 180 \:  {m}^{2}

LENGTH : BREATH = 5:4

 \frac{length}{breath \: }  =  \frac{5}{4}  \\  \\ 4 \: length \:  = 5 \: breath \:

LENGTH BE X

HENCE BREATH =

breath \:  =  \frac{4 \: leangth}{5}  \\  \\ length \:  = x \\  \\ breath \:  =  \frac{4x}{5}

HENCE

AREA OF RECTANGLE = LENGTH × BREATH

WHERE

NOW

(x) \times ( \frac{4x}{5} ) = 180 \\  \\ 4 {x}^{2}  = 180 \times 5 \\  \\ 4 {x}^{2}  = 900 \\  \\  {x}^{2}  =  \frac{900}{4} \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 225 \\  \\ x =  \sqrt{225}  \\  \\ x = 15

NOW ,

LENGTH = 15 METER

AND BREATH

 =  \frac{4x}{5}  \\   \\  =  \frac{4(15)}{5}  \\  \\  = 12

HENCE BREATH = 12 METER
