i think answer of 34(b)...;

displacement= net change in the position of the object..

therefore..; it is hypotenuse...

=

 \sqrt{8 { }^{2}  + 6 {}^{2} }

=

 \sqrt{100}

=10...

hope u understand...

hello mate..

Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered or complete distance covered by object" during its motion.

Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position or shortest distance covered by object.

in question 2, the distance is 8+6 = 14cm

while the shortest distance is obtained according to law of pythagoras theorem of hypotenuse

suppose ab is base, ac is hypotenuse and bc is perpendicular

so ac2 = ab2 + bc2

so ac = 10 cm..

please follow me if it helps u
