Given that ( x – 2 ) is a divisor of p (x)

or in other words

( x – 2 ) is a factor of p (x)

Hence p (x) should become zero when we substitue x = 2

p ( 2 ) = 3 ( 2 )² – k ( 2 ) + 10

0 = 3 × 4 – 2k + 10

0 = 12 + 10 – 2k

2k = 22

k = 11

the root of x-2=o

x=2

so k=

3(2)*2-k(2)+10=0

3×4-k×2+10=0

12+10-2k=0

22=1/2k

k=11..
