A trick for it is only the question itself ....here they have said that at S.T.P i.e, standard temp. is 273k , standard pressure is 1 atm.pres. then the volume is to be found at 1 atm found but needed for 3 that's the above answer.....

Answer:

according to ideal gas equation

P.V =n . R . T

⇒P.V÷T=n.R

⇒P.V÷T=constant

⇒P₁V₁÷T₁=P₂V₂÷T₂

⇒P₁=3atm     ; P₂=1atm

V₁=55ml        ;  V₂=?          (at S.T.P conditions)

T₁=182°c=455K ; T₂=273K

(3*55)/455 =(1*V₂)/273

V₂=0.36*273

V₂=99ml
