Heya!

✳Ques.7
========

➡Let y varies directly as x . If y = 15 when x = 3 , then write a linear equation . What is the Value of y when x = 5 ?

✳Sol. Given that ,

=> y varies directly as x

Hence ,

y = kx < k is the proportionality constant >

We have y = 15 and x = 3 ,

15 = 3k

=> k = 5
========

Hence the Equation is
====================

=> y = 5x

=> y - 5x = 0...............(1)

➡When x = 5 ,

=> y - 5 × 5 = 0

=> y = 25
=========

Ques.2 Write an Equation representing x - axis .

Sol. The Equation representing x axis is y = 0

Ques.3 How many linear equations in x and y can be satisfied at x = 1 and y = 2 ?

Sol. The Number of Equations are INFINITE .

Ex . ✳ X + 2Y = 5 .

Ques. 4Write the Equation x = 7 in two variables .

Sol. It can be written as => x + 0y = 7 < Since y is zero >

Ques.6 Do the points ( 1 , 2 ) ( -1 , -16 ) and ( 0 , -7 ) lie on the linear equation
y = 9x - 7.

✳For ( 1 , 2 ) => x = 1 and y = 2

=> 2 = 9 (1) - 7

=> 2 = 9-7

=> 2 = 2 ✔

✳For ( -1 , -16 )

x = -1 and y = -16

=> -16 = 9 (-1) - 7

=> -16 = -9 - 7

=> -16 = -16

✳For ( 0 , -7 )

x = 0 and y = -7

=> -7 = 9 (0) -7

=> -7 = -7

✔Hence the points lie on the linear equation as the given values are solutions to the Equation !!

Ques.9 . By means of graph verify that the point ( 1 , -1 ) is a solution of the Equation 3x + 2y - 1 = 0

Sol. Given point ( 1 , -1 )

x = 1 and y = -1

=> 3 ( 1 ) + 2 (-1) - 1

=> 3 - 2 - 1

=> 3 - 3 = 0

✳Hence it is a solution of the Equation !!
