Given,

Length of door = 2m

Breadth of door = 1m

Area of door = 1m × 2m = 2m^2

Length of wall = 4.5m

Breadth of wall = 3.6m

Area of wall = 4.5m × 3.6m = 16.2m^2

Since only the wall is going be whitewashed (i.e. excluding the door)

Area of wall to be whitewashed = Area of wall-Area of door

= 16.2m^2 - 2m^2

= 14.2m^2

cost of whitewashing the wall

= Rs 14.2 × 20

= Rs 284

Therefore the cost of whitewashing the wall is Rupees 284
