In eukaryotic cells, mitochondria and chloroplasts are semi autonomous organelles whose functions are not contradictory in nature as-

Explanation:

  • Different organelles behave in different manner such as the mitochondria are beneficial in producing energy in the ATP form (Adenosine tri phosphate) through cellular respiration process.
  • Chloroplast has chlorophyll which converts sun's light energy into energy in the plant cells by the photosynthesis process. In the photosynthesis process, 3 main events occurs such as absorption, conversion and production. Thus, chloroplast contributes in photosynthesis process.
  • Both has their own specific DNA. It is seen in large part of the proteins in these organelles are coded by DNA or genes in the nucleus by a minor part is seen coded by organellar DNA.
