let

number of students who read english = n(E)

number of students who read Hindi = n(H)

number of students who read both = n(E n H)

now, our event is student who reads English given he reads hindi.

so we have to find P (E / H) i.e probability of E given H

P ( E / H) = P ( E n H) / P (H)

= n( E n H) / n(H) ( because n(S) will be same for both)

= 20/60

= 1/3
