Thomson's proposed model of an atom is also called as the Christmas pudding model of an atom. According to him, the atom is a positively charged sphere with electrons embedded in it like dry fruits on a pudding. It can also be imagined as a watermelon where the red fleshy part is +vely charged sphere and the seed s are -vely charged electons. Rutherford's model proposed that the +ve mass of an atom is concentrated in a small part of an atom and electrons orbit around it in well defined orbits.
