 {\huge {\mathfrak {\red {Answer :-}}}}

(x - a) is a factor of x^3 - ax^2 + 2x + a - 1.

Now, using remainder theorem,

f(x) = x^3 - ax^2 + 2x + a - 1

f(a) = (a)^3 - a(a)^2 + 2a + a - 1 = 0

Or, a^3 - a^3 + 3a - 1 = 0

Or, 3a - 1 = 0

Or, 3a = 1

Or, a = 1/3

➡️ Hence, value of a is 1/3.
