⭐v² - u² = 2as

v = final velocity

u = initial velocity

a = acceleration

s = distance covered

⭐Acc . to question:

✔️u initial velocity of train = 90 km/ hr

= 25 m/s

✔️acceleration a = - 0.5 m / s²

✔️final velocity v = 0 ( rest)

So,

✔️0 - ( 25 )² = 2 x - 0.5 x s

✔️s = 625/ 1 m

✔️s = 625 m

Hence train will cover 625 m before coming to rest.
