1) Now this has a very simple logic you just imagine a situation where u have to place a heavy cylinder in a truck , so in this situation if u lift the cylinder to keep it , it would take a lot of efforts and force but instead if you just place a sloping ramp and just roll it over it then it would probably require less efforts and force...so similarly stretcher ramp in hospital have sloping surface so as to reduce the efforts required.

2) See this is such a good question now in this situation to find a needle she should use a magnet so as it would attract the needle , because needle is made of a metal and we know that metals are attracted by the magent . And it won't help her to find the pearl because it is non - magnetic so magnet can't attract it .
